Botox® is a type A botulinum toxin that works by temporarily blocking the nerve impulses directed towards the muscles into which it is injected. This prevents the muscles from contracting and creating lines and wrinkles.
We only use genuine Botox® which is licensed specifically for aesthetic and cosmetic use.
This treatment is very safe when performed by our medically qualified Independent Nurse Practitioner, Liz.

Botox® is a versatile treatment that can be used to soften smile lines, reduce forehead lines, control excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), help with teeth grinding, reduce a gummy smile, lift eyebrows to open up your eyes, minimise the severity of migraines and much more.

Avoid alcoholic beverages for 24 hours prior to procedure as this can increase the risk for bleeding and bruising at the treated site(s).
You will be advised to keep the target muscles inactive for a few hours and to avoid extremes of heat or cold, vigorous exercise, or lying down directly after treatment. All of which can affect the success of your Botox® treatment.
It is expected that you will start to see an improvement in your targeted areas within 2 or 3 days. The full result can be judged at 2-3 weeks post procedure.
Results tend to last 3-4 months. Movement will begin recovering from 6 – 8 weeks. Frequent treatment at intervals of less than 3 months is NOT recommended. You will be reminded to rebook, should you wish, 10 weeks after treatment.
If we feel it necessary, you may be invited to attend a review appointment 2-4 weeks after your initial treatment. During this appointment we will assess the success of the treatment and make any adjustments that are needed for your personal treatment plan.
Side effects include, but are not limited to;
Adverse events are uncommon but should they occur, they normally start within a few days of treatment and are expected to be temporary, usually resolving spontaneously within weeks.
Optimum results of your injections will take 2 weeks. Your treatment results will develop over a few days.
This will vary for every client, as a general guide you can expect to see your results for between 3 to 4 months, after which further treatment will be required should you wish to maintain them. Please bear in mind that if this is your first treatment then results may start to wear off sooner.
Side effects are minimal and rare, but will be fully explained during the consent process. The procedure takes minutes to have done. The main aftercare advice is that you do not lie down flat for two hours following treatment. Or vigorously rub your face. You can also read the post-treatment advice below.
