How Do Laser Hair Removal Treatments Work at The Clinic Cheshire?

Our laser hair removal treatments use the EpilMe device which uses diode laser technology to target hair follicles.

The laser heats the follicle to a point where it causes damage to the cells responsible for hair growth, minimising the chance of that hair returning.

With advanced modes we can treat most skin and hair types, unlike some traditional IPL devices. A built-in cooling system ensures safety and reduces discomfort for our patients. Multiple sessions are needed to target hairs during their growth phase.

Over time, patients experience noticeably reduced hair regrowth.

"Liz is the absolute BEST...she is so knowledgeable, puts you at ease and honest - she will decline to treat if she doesn’t think something will work for you or you don’t need. Always thrilled with my results."

  4. Avoid chemical peels and microdermabrasion for one week prior to treatment.

  3. Avoid sun exposure / artificial tanning for two weeks post treatment.
  4. Do not carry out any waxing, tweezing or other hair removal methods that can disturb the hair follicle. Shaving between treatments is ok.

Frequently Asked Questions

From the first treatment you will notice a reduction in hair regrowth. Because the area needs to be cleanly shaven for the treatment, you will not notice this for a little while, until your hair starts growing back.

Hair removal treatments are not guaranteed to be permanent. Laser treatments are designed to reduce the amount of hair growing in the treatment area, not stop it completely. After 6 treatments you will likely notice a significant difference. Some patients may need more than 6 treatments and top up treatments can be recommended to keep the maximum benefit.

There can be some minimal side effects, such as mild redness, swelling and itching after treatment. These are normal but if you’re concerned, please speak to your practitioner or call the clinic.

In rare cases there can be bruising, blistering and some changes to the pigmentation of your skin. If you experience any of these side effects please call the clinic as soon as possible.

If you have any additional questions about this treatment, please don’t hesitate to give our friendly team a call or book a consultation and we can answer your questions when we see you.
