How Does a Profhilo Treatment Work at The Clinic Cheshire?

Pre & Post Treatment Advice

Pre-Treatment Advice for Profhilo

Avoid alcohol and any blood thinning medications such as ibuprofen or aspirin 24 hours prior to treatment to avoid the increased risk of bruising (do not stop medication advised or prescribed by your doctor).

Post-Treatment Advice for Profhilo

Immediately after treatment, there may be slight redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, and an itching sensation in the treated area. These signs are temporary and will resolve in 24-48hrs.

Avoid touching your treated area for 6 hours after treatment
Do not massage the treated area
Drink plenty of fluids to hydrate yourself and your skin
After 6 hrs wash gently with a mild cleanser, if you wish to apply makeup this should be delayed until 24hrs after treatment
Avoid the use of a sauna and sunbed for 2 weeks.
Apply daily SPF minimum factor 30 separate from any other products.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will I see results from Profhilo?

A course of two or three Profhilo treatments is recommended one-month apart. Your full treatment results will be realised after the second treatment. Profhilo works with the skin’s natural processes to produce fresh collagen and elastin for gradual, natural changes.

How long will my Profhilo results last?

Results from your Profhilo treatment will last for up to 5 months, at which point we would recommend having a booster to continue your results and improve your skin quality.

Are there any side effects to having Profhilo?

You may experience some redness, swelling or pain over the injection sites, this is completely natural and a common side effect which should subside within a day or two. Some small bumps may be present for up to 24 hours after the injections. Bruising at the injection site is also a possibility.
